Omar Khayyam
Omar Khayyam was a master at quatrains, a type of poetry popular in Persia. He also was a great mathematician. He, like others, grew on Greek ideas. He wrote an examination of Greek geometry studies. Khayyam used his knowledge of math to make an accurate astronomy calendar which made praying to Mecca easier.

Al- Ma'mun
Al-Ma'mun, the son of Haran Al-Rashid, was a caliph from 813-833 CE. He had an interest in science and arts, so cultural advancements flourished which led to the golden age. He and his brother, Al-Mu'tasim prevented losing power in the Empire.
